WEDDINGS
I provide solo acoustic vocals and guitar for wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, and selected portions of the reception where live acoustic music makes sense.
The music can cover everything from guest arrival and ceremony songs to relaxed cocktail-hour sets and other parts of the day where you want live music without needing a full band or DJ setup.
WHERE IT FITS
Solo acoustic music can work in several different parts of a wedding day, depending on where you want live music to be most noticeable.
For the ceremony, that can include music as guests arrive, the processional, a song during the ceremony, and the recessional. For cocktail hour, the music can be more relaxed and continuous while guests mingle, have drinks, and move into the reception.
It can also work for selected parts of the reception, such as dinner or another portion of the evening where acoustic music fits the setting better than a full dance-floor format.
PLANNING THE MUSIC
Before the wedding, we can talk through the songs you want, which moments need live music, and how everything should fit into the timeline. For ceremonies, that means getting clear on things like the processional order, specific song choices, when each song should begin and end, and what happens immediately after the ceremony.
If you’re working with a planner, coordinator, venue, or officiant, I can coordinate with them on the details that affect the music. On the wedding day, I follow the actual timing of the ceremony rather than expecting everything to happen at an exact minute.
If the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception are in different areas, I can plan for that from the start. Depending on the venue and schedule, I can either move a compact setup between locations or have separate setups ready in different areas so the music can transition from one part of the wedding to the next without a long changeover.
A FEW WEDDING-DAY DETAILS
I bring the sound system needed for my vocals and acoustic guitar, and I can work indoors or outdoors. For outdoor ceremonies or cocktail hours, I’ll need a suitable place to set up and a weather plan if conditions could affect the performance or equipment.
Ceremony song choices are best worked out ahead of time, especially for the processional, recessional, or any other specific moment where the timing matters. If there are additional songs or artists you’d like included during cocktail hour or another part of the wedding, those can be discussed as well.
If the venue, DJ, or production team is providing other audio for the ceremony — such as microphones for the officiant or vows — I can coordinate with them so everyone is clear on who is handling each part of the sound setup.
